Community Service : Volunteer Work for Sled Hockey Players with Mobility Impairments

I have played hockey since I was 6 years old. I am extremely passionate about succeeding at the highest possible level and being the best version of myself on the ice. I got involved in helping out at an ice hockey community event at Richard J. Codey Arena in West Orange, New Jersey. The New Jersey Devils Youth Hockey Club Sled Hockey program, established in 1999, gives players of all ages who have mobility impairments the opportunity to enjoy the game of ice hockey. During the winter season, the Sled Hockey team practices on Friday nights and I volunteered to participate in this program to help push the sleds around.
